A 57-year-old Saskatchewan man was killed Monday morning while clearing a grain hopper at a work site east of Edmonton. Just after 9:10 a.m., emergency crews were called to Hi-Pro Feeds in Sherwood Park. Police said the man was cleaning the hopper when an accident occurred. The man was found dead inside the hopper. “While we don’t have all the details at this time, we know that a third-party contract driver was delivering a load of ingredients at approximately 9 a.m.,” Hi-Pro Feeds said in a statement Monday evening. “A Hi-Pro Feeds employee discovered the accident scene and immediately called 911. “Our hearts go out to the driver and the driver’s family. Members of the Hi-Pro leadership team are en route to the facility to assist.” The man’s name is not being released, RCMP said.
